AltraFlex™ Network Compression Accelerator

The AltraFlex™ Network Compression Accelerator is pre-configured for high performance data networking applications. Context switched cores support fair sharing of hardware that is necessary to deliver consistent quality of service and low latency for a large number of network flows. At the center of the AltraFlex Network Compression Accelerator are the AltraCores™ CS-GZIP v2 and CS-GUNZIP v2 cores that are integrated into the AltraFlex™ Platform. The AltraFlex Network Compression Accelerator is highly scalable and flexible to match the user’s application requirements offering throughput in excess of 10Gbps in the higher end of the solution.

The hardware platform operates under the control of Linux device drivers and enablement software that allows systems integrators to operate it with a high level, easy to use API. The software API has “drop in” capability that enables the system to automatically switch ZLIB and mod_deflate execution from the central processing unit (CPU) to the AltraFlex card, increasing overall throughput by 2 to 3x. By eliminating the need to modify existing software,the designer can ease integration efforts and speed time to deployment by up to six months.
